Overview

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is the latest entry in the popular indie horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy's released by ScottGames on December 17, 2021.

In the game, the player will play as a child, Gregory. Players will be locked in the brand new Freddy's Pizza Plex and will only be able to spend the night there. Unlike the previous game, Security Breach's storyline only takes place in one night, but it has multiple endings. Players can repeatedly explore the entire Pizza Plex to reach various conclusions in the story. It can be said that this is an exploration game.

Gameplay

Security Breach's tone emphasizes the atmosphere that players are trapped in an enclosed giant attraction with much dangerous animatronics inside. Even in larger areas, players can feel a little claustrophobic and intimidating. As players peek and run past every corner, the atmosphere can make the player nervous enough, every corner of the game may appear to frighten the player, and at the same time, the player can see other animatronics that is chasing you.

► For the animatronic Moondrop, the player must enter the charging station to avoid it.

► The flashlight has a forced recharge time, and it drains so quickly that the player needs to return to recharge frequently.

► The game's map is huge, and players need to grasp where they are in the game.

► Some game puzzles are so difficult that players need hours of searching or finding walkthroughs to get through them correctly.

► The appeal of the game is the horror, not the gameplay. Players need to know in advance that missions will terrify them and keep their attention on the animatronics.

► Players can piece together FNAF through mini-games and message logs and stories. There is an extensive and confusing story behind FNAF.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security breach is a free-roam survival game and it’s the second game in the franchise developed by Steel Wood Studio also known as the tenth game in the series. It was first announced in 2019 and released in 2021 with adaptations for PC, PS4, and 5. An interesting fact about the game itself, it’s that it was gonna be released at the end of 2020 because it was postponed by covid which is quite unfortunate. This game is quite popular just like every other generation in the franchise.

Well in this game, you will be playing as a young boy named Gregory and you will have to survive the crazy hunt and face the scary horror. Animatronics will hun you down as always and you won’t be able to stay in a place for so long so you will have to escape and survive although it could be challenging.

Constant update patches are being released to handle the quantities of bugs and adjustments and I sincerely do hope that the developers of every game can make sure that their game doesn’t need constant patches when released. It just felt irresponsible and unfair for this player who has been looking forward to the game for such a long time to endure bugs and glitches. This game has a significant amount of potential, the general flow of the game and the whole environment setup is amazingly well done. Also to mention some moments of jump scare will most definitely get you and haunt you. Although the visual design is quite nice nowadays, the level design is kind of off. Spoiler alert, there are a lot of backtrackings but you don't know what exactly to do to get to the real endings and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to be sent to the beginning of the game. And one thing I couldn’t bear the most is that I felt like the game has wasted the nice storyline telling like all the other generations in the franchise. I felt like the storyline in this new gen is quite thin and there are pieces and information for the players to get what exactly happened. So you will pretty much guess why the final ending is the way it is and there is just no explanation or anything like that.

But like I mentioned there are some positive sides to every story. The newly developed game function and the incredible new characters' look make this generation stand out compared to the rest of the generations. Security is a free roam game so you will get chances to do more exploration and is more interesting than the previous generation where you are just simply stuck in a room staring at the surveillance camera. As Gregory, you can run and hide, using tools to survive and that’s undoubtedly fascinating. The details of the visual design of the animatronics and characters are outstanding. The larger map with details of either the shopping mall or food plaza makes people feel like they might be playing Grand Theft Auto instead of a famous horror game, Five Nights at Freddy’s. I also love the designs where the game included a lot of elements from the previous sequels. If you are a serious fan of the Five Nights at Freddy’s, you will be warmed by those dedications of small objects contributing respect to the other generations. The music and voice acting are still excellent as always.

I would recommend you to play this game no matter how old you are or if you are ever a fan of the franchise. It’s a quite new game and I think it will provide you so much fun despite some flaws.
